Sheridan College’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in collaboration with the Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design, present a Sheridan community event focusing on stories of “life, love, and learning.” (March 5th, 2020)
I will present on the power of story telling in the classroom, and I will also read a chapter from my memoir.

“Ali-Mohammad” is a chapter from my ‘in-progress’ memoir, titled Lost in Them, which in part explores the haunting effects and trauma of living through the Lebanese Civil War in the 1970s and 1980s. The story’s inspiration comes from a moment of courage and strength when my mother made difficult decisions in order to protect her family and her home from militiamen.
